This book discusses the New Paradigm of Preventive and Promotive Based Public Health. It includes the concepts and foundations of the new paradigm of public health, preventive approaches in public health, promotive approaches in public health, health behavior and determinants of public health, public health policies and programs, innovation and transformation of public health in the digital era, as well as the challenges and future directions of preventive and promotive public health.

Public health is a field of science that continues to evolve in response to changing disease patterns, advances in health technology, socioeconomic dynamics, and increasingly complex societal needs. Early in the development of the modern health system, health services were primarily oriented toward a curative approach, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This approach evolved as advances in biomedical science identified various causes of disease and resulted in significant therapeutic innovations (Cohen & Cohen, 2024).

Over time, various countries have recognized that improving public health cannot be achieved through medicine alone. Many health problems are influenced by behavioral factors, the environment, education, income, employment, and other social conditions. This perspective has gained widespread attention since the publication of the Canadian Health Report, which emphasized the importance of environmental and lifestyle factors in determining public health status (Sobur, 2025).
