This book discusses tips for micro-enterprises to survive and thrive in the digital era. It covers initial business survival, quality, operational processes and productivity, basic marketing, financial record-keeping, online sales practices, licensing and legal aspects of MSMEs, and taxation for MSMEs.
Amidst the growing entrepreneurial spirit among young Catholics, the challenge of business survival is becoming increasingly apparent. Many new businesses emerge with creative ideas, but many fail to survive beyond a year or two. One of the main causes of this failure is a weak understanding of business feasibility studies, market analysis, and lack of orientation towards business sustainability.
The case of “Tara Nasiku,” which was widely discussed in the media, is a clear example of how a product created with good intentions and large market potential can fail due to weak market analysis and feasibility studies. Tara Nasiku is a fast food product consisting of instant rice with the concept of “practical, nutritious,
and can be enjoyed anywhere.” This idea is basically promising because it seeks to meet the needs of a busy modern society and requires ready-to-eat food. However, in practice, this product failed to attract widespread consumer interest and ultimately became a topic of discussion on social media because it was deemed irrelevant to market tastes and needs.
