STUDY OF THE DISCIPLINE OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION FROM A SCIENTIFIC PERSPECTIVE

This book discusses the study of Islamic education disciplines from a scientific perspective. It covers the definition of disciplines and scientific perspectives, the ontology of Islamic education, the epistemology of Islamic education, the characteristics of Islamic education, the relationship between Islamic education and other Islamic sciences, and interdisciplinary approaches to Islamic education.

Disciplines is a structured agreement. It defines the boundaries of a field of study (the material object) and the specific methods used to dissect that field (the formal object). When we speak of a discipline, we are talking about a tradition with a long history, a time-tested methodology, and an academic community that maintains its validity. Disciplines provide us with a solid foundation so we know exactl  where we stand as we try to unravel the complexities of the world.

However, standing within one house alone is never enough. The real world never operates in isolated boxes. A social phenomenon, for example, cannot be fully understood from only one perspective. This is whereScientific Perspectiveplays a crucial role. If a scientific discipline is its “home,” then a scientific perspective is the “window” through which we look out. Perspective is the conceptual lens, viewpoint, or paradigm through which we interpret data and facts. The same scientific discipline can yield completely different conclusions when examined from different perspectives. In fact, in this modern era, a scientific perspective demands that we boldly transcend traditional boundaries through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches.
